Meet the Editor
US Trucking Standards is led by Michael R. Holt, a commercial transportation professional with over a decade of hands-on experience in the trucking industry.
Michael spent years behind the wheel of tanker trucks and hazmat vehicles, hauling Class 3 flammable liquids, corrosives, and other regulated commodities. He later moved into fleet operations, coordinating dispatch, driver qualification files, and regulatory compliance for a mid-size carrier.
That combination — direct experience with hazmat placarding, hours of service enforcement, and the administrative side of running a compliant fleet — is the foundation of every guide published on this site. Michael founded US Trucking Standards to give independent owner-operators and small fleet managers access to the same compliance knowledge that large carriers pay consultants to provide.
